1. What role do you play in the company? What are your main responsibilities that constitute the core of your work time?

Within the VUMZ Group, I primarily focus on its financial management.

2. What is your typical workday like? What is the most interesting or challenging aspect of it?

My workday usually starts between 5:00 and 6:00 AM. I try to utilize the quiet morning moments either for a run or for more creative work. In the morning, I attend meetings and handle operational tasks, while in the afternoon, I focus on analytical work that requires more peace. I must admit that my job is incredibly diverse and not limited to finances.
Often, I feel as if I’m working in a new startup every month.

3. What qualities do you think a person must have to be successful in your profession or position?

I wouldn’t generalize, but for me personally, shortcuts in work do not build a solid foundation for further development. I believe that an employee in any position must first work hard to subsequently learn how to work smart.
These thoughts, in my opinion, are applicable to everyday life as well.

4. If you had to choose one work activity that forms part of your work process to dedicate yourself to and improve in for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

It would be working with numbers, especially acquiring, processing, and interpreting them in a way that impacts specific decision-making processes within the company.

5. One thing you would improve in the company, and one thing that you like and perceive as a positive.

What I like most about the company is the team spirit and the high level of responsibility among employees. Many times, I have witnessed our employees staying longer in the office or in the field during installations just to find more effective solutions, even considering that working with waste doesn’t always smell pleasant.

6. If you were to introduce VUMZ Group to someone who doesn’t know it, what would you say?

VUMZ Group is not static, and I dare say that a year ago, I would have introduced this group differently than today. We grew as an engineering company focused on material recycling, and this area still constitutes a significant part of our revenues. The difference is that, in addition to larger projects, we are now also engaged in new areas and countries. Over the past two years, we have established a new company for the production of steel structures capable of manufacturing special steel constructions. We have added construction activities and development to our business operations.

For the year 2025, we are preparing acquisitions and projects in new areas that leverage the synergy of this group.

7. How do you relax after a demanding day? How do you spend your free time?

During the workweek, free time is scarce, so I try to dedicate it solely to my family. We have two little girls at home, so my schedule revolves around them. It often happens that I fall asleep with them before 9 PM with a children’s book in hand.
I feel that children’s books serve more to put parents to sleep than children.

8. Do you follow sports? If so, which ones? Favorite club or athlete? If it’s a sport you actively participate in, feel free to tell us more.

I like football and once a year I go to Spain to watch a league match, always combining it with a sightseeing tour. During the summer, I try to commute to work by bike; from Nitra to Černík, it’s approximately 25 km.

9. If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Don’t strive for perfection and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. If an interesting offer comes, take it and only then figure out how to realize it. The best path will reveal itself subsequently, even if you don’t have all the answers at the beginning.
